Most questions about how to promote OnlyFans on Reddit come down to why an account stopped working, and the answer is usually a rule nobody read. Reddit is one of the few large platforms where adult content can be posted openly, and one of the strictest about how. This is how we approach it, and what we would tell a creator starting alone.
How to promote OnlyFans on Reddit: who is in charge
Reddit is built from communities, called subreddits, each organised around one interest and run by moderators drawn from its own users. People come to browse a niche they chose, and posts rise or sink by votes. For a creator that means reach without an existing audience: a good post in the right community is seen by people who already want that kind of content.
It also means the creator is never in charge. Reddit's rules put community rules first and add a few sitewide ones on top: don't spam, don't mislead, label sexually explicit content. Everything else is decided community by community.
On Reddit you are always a guest. The moderators decide how long you stay.
OnlyFans Reddit promotion starts with choosing subreddits
Pick communities for fit. A small community built around exactly the creator's niche is worth more than a large one where promotion is unwelcome, and some communities ban self-promotion outright, however large they are. Communities that don't host adult content can switch on Reddit's adult content promoters filter, which spots accounts that likely promote adult content and holds or removes what they post. Promotion doesn't work in those spaces, and it shouldn't.
Then read the rules, all of them, before the first post. On the web they sit in the sidebar; in the app, under the About tab. Look for five things: whether promotion and links are allowed, whether verification is required, how often one account may post, the title format, and what content fits. Communities can also set a minimum karma and account age, and Reddit does not disclose the thresholds. Keep a simple sheet per community with its rules, verification status and posting limit, and check it before every post.
Verification
Many adult communities verify creators before they can post. The moderators ask for proof that the person in the photos is the person running the account. The method is theirs to set, so it is described in each community's rules or wiki. Verification exists to keep out accounts that post other people's photos, which is why it works in a real creator's favour. Do it before the first post rather than after the first removal.
A verification belongs to one account, and the trust it buys stays with that account. It has to come from the person in the photos, never from someone standing in for her.
Posting cadence and titles
Reddit's spam policy names the pattern most promotion falls into: mass-posting repetitive content for exposure or financial gain. The same photo with the same title across dozens of communities in one sitting is exactly that. Post less, in fewer places, spaced out, and within each community's own limit.
New accounts have an extra brake. Reddit limits how often new, low-karma accounts can post and comment in a community, and says that even a little karma earned by commenting helps. Take that literally. Spend the first weeks commenting like a member: it builds karma, and it shows what each community likes.
Titles are written for the community: in its format, with its tags, describing the post honestly. They should sound like a person talking to the reader. Don't ask for upvotes. Some communities forbid it in their rules, and organised voting counts as manipulation across the whole site.
Profile and pinned post
A good post sends people to the profile, and the profile does the converting. Reddit's profile settings hold a short bio, a banner and avatar, social links, and a switch that marks the profile NSFW. If the profile carries adult content, mark it. Unmarked adult content breaks the labelling rule wherever it sits.
Pin a post to the top of the profile that says who the creator is, what she posts and where to find more. It is the one post every visitor sees, so it deserves the care of a landing page. And don't count on hiding your history: when you post or comment in a community, its moderators can see your full profile history for 28 days, whatever your settings.
What gets you banned
These are the patterns that burn Reddit accounts. Don't do any of them.
- Spam. Repetitive mass-posting, mass-tagging people, sending large numbers of unsolicited messages. The same policy names bots and generative AI tools used to spread spam.
- Vote manipulation. Extra accounts, voting services, bought upvotes, organised voting groups. Reddit prohibits all of them.
- Ban evasion. Coming back to a community on another account after its moderators banned you. Reddit treats it as a violation of its rules that can end in a sitewide suspension, and it detects suspected evaders from signals about how accounts connect.
- Extra accounts to get around rules. A second account used to double a posting limit or dodge a community's rules is still breaking them. The spam policy separately names using multiple accounts to inflate a community's numbers.
- Unlabelled adult content, anywhere on the site.
Not every penalty arrives as a message. Reddit says that if your posts, comments and profile aren't showing up as expected, the account may have been flagged for spam or inauthentic activity. Every account also carries a Contributor Quality Score, built from signals such as past actions on the account and email verification, and moderators can filter by it. The history follows the account, which is the best reason to keep it clean.
Converting Reddit visitors
A Reddit visitor arrives curious and has decided nothing yet. The path is short: post, profile, link, page. Every step should look like the same person, from the photos in the post to the pinned post, the landing page and the OnlyFans profile. The link should go where it says it goes.
