Every source has to pay.

Reddit, TikTok, X, dating funnels and bought traffic: how each channel works, where each platform draws its lines, and why we judge them all on money.

Most advice on how to promote OnlyFans counts the wrong things: views, followers, clicks. We have managed OnlyFans accounts since 2019. Our traffic unit runs its own funnels on TikTok, Reddit, Twitter and dating platforms, and buys from a wide network of traffic suppliers. Through every platform change since, we have judged traffic by what it turns into.

How to promote OnlyFans: judge every source on money

A click is not a fan, and a new subscriber is not yet revenue. We measure a chain with four links: the click, the subscription, what the fan spends, and the return on what the source cost. A source that sends thousands of clicks and a handful of fans who never buy loses to a quiet one whose fans renew and spend for months. The difference stays invisible unless every source has its own tracking link from the first day.

Two corrections keep the arithmetic honest. OnlyFans keeps 20% of every fan payment under its terms of service, so set what a source costs against the creator's 80%, not against the gross. And fans reveal their value slowly. Pick a test window, give every source the same one, and judge when it closes.

A source is worth what it turns into, not what it sends.

Every channel below runs inside the rules of the platform it lives on. OnlyFans requires this too. Its terms say any link promoting a creator account must comply with the terms of the place where it is advertised. Rules for OnlyFans promotion differ by platform, so each section says where the line is.

How to promote OnlyFans on Reddit

Reddit is one of the few large platforms where adult content can be posted openly, provided it is labelled. It is organised into communities by interest, so a creator can reach people who already look for her niche without bringing an audience of her own. For many creators it is the best first channel, and the one with the most rules.

Each subreddit is run by its moderators under rules they write, from whether promotion is allowed at all to how creators verify and how often they may post. Some ban self-promotion outright. Reddit's sitewide rules sit on top: follow community rules, don't spam, label sexually explicit content. The work is daily and slow, and it compounds, because communities judge an account by its history. The full playbook is in how to promote OnlyFans on Reddit.

How to promote OnlyFans on TikTok and Instagram

Short video is where attention is cheapest and the rules are strictest. TikTok's guidelines do not allow "facilitating access to sexual services", a category that includes offering sexual chats, imagery or pornography. TikTok reads intent from context: bios, hashtags, captions and sounds. Sexually suggestive content from adults is age-restricted and kept out of the For You feed. An account that posts a lot of it can be made harder to find altogether.

So the TikTok stays what TikTok is for: entertainment and personality, with nothing to moderate. Between that viral surface and the paid page we put at least one owned layer: an Instagram, a landing page we control, a Telegram channel for people who want more. Each layer filters casual scrollers from people with real intent, so fewer people reach OnlyFans and far more of them pay. We describe the setup in promo without burning your TikTok.

The layers filter people; they do not hide the account from TikTok's rules. If the videos, captions or bio sell adult content, no number of steps in between makes the account compliant. TikTok removes links that break its rules and can temporarily stop an account from posting links. Build the account so it would survive losing its link.

Instagram draws the line elsewhere. Meta's policy limits posts that contain usernames, links or logos of adult subscription sites to adults, and removes offers of nude imagery and links to pornographic websites. The cost is reach. Under Instagram's recommendation guidelines, suggestive content and adult promotion may not be shown to people who don't follow you, and an account with such content in its name, photo or bio can drop out of recommendations entirely. A professional account can check this in Account Status.

X (Twitter)

X is, with Reddit, one of the few large networks whose rules allow consensual adult content, as long as it is labelled and not prominently displayed. X's adult content policy asks regular posters to switch on the media setting that puts every image and video behind a warning, and an account that keeps failing to mark its posts has the setting changed for it. Adult content is not allowed in profile photos or banners, and marked media stays closed to viewers under 18 or without a birth date on their profile.

That openness makes X crowded, and it is where the temptation to buy reach is strongest. Bought engagement and networks of accounts built to boost each other break X's authenticity policy. Engagement groups sit close to the line, and the line is X's to draw. What works is slower: a consistent persona, posts made for X, real replies, collaborations with creators whose audiences overlap.

Dating funnels

Dating funnels reach people who are already looking for attention. That is why they convert, and why they are the easiest channel to get wrong. The big dating apps forbid them. Tinder's guidelines tell members not to advertise, promote or share social handles to gain followers, rule out any sort of sex work and ban fake accounts. Bumble does not allow unsolicited commercial or promotional use. A funnel built on fake profiles there breaks those rules and starts every fan relationship with a lie.

The version that lasts runs only where a platform's terms allow promotion, such as adult dating sites that sell ad placements. Its landing page says plainly what is behind the click: a paid subscription to a creator's page. Fans who thought they had matched with a date leave angry, and an angry fan is the likeliest to dispute the charge. OnlyFans' terms let it deduct the creator's share of a refund or chargeback, so a misleading funnel costs twice: once for the click and again for the dispute.

Paid shoutouts and buying OnlyFans traffic

Buying traffic is the fastest way to scale and the fastest way to burn money. In a paid shoutout, another creator or page promotes you to their audience for a fee; a traffic supplier runs its own pages and funnels and sells the result, priced per click or per subscriber. OnlyFans' terms forbid promoting an account through Google Ads or any similar search advertising service, so search ads are out.

How to buy without burning money:

  • Test small. A first order only needs to show whether the source pays.
  • Give every source, and every placement within it, its own tracking link. A subscriber with no origin can't be judged.
  • Compare the whole chain: click, subscription, spend, ROI. Cheap subscribers who never buy are the most expensive kind.
  • Cut losers fast. A source that hasn't paid back by the end of its test window doesn't get a second budget out of politeness.
  • Track refunds and chargebacks by source. A source with more than its share is sending the wrong fans, and the disputes come out of the creator's earnings.
  • Watch for fans who don't behave like people: subscriptions that arrive in bursts, accounts that never open a message or spend, profiles that look alike. If the fans look manufactured, assume they were.

Ask every supplier where the traffic comes from. If the answer involves bots, bought engagement or mass-produced accounts, it breaks the rules of the platform it came from, and OnlyFans requires promotion to comply with those rules. For shoutouts posted on OnlyFans itself, the terms require paid promotional posts to be labelled with a tag such as #ad, the brand advertised and who paid.

Conversion, the other half of OnlyFans marketing

Every channel ends on the same page, and that page decides what the traffic was worth. Four things should be right before a single click is bought.

  • The profile. Photo, banner and bio tell a stranger at a glance who this is and what the page offers. They should match the person the fan followed from Reddit or X.
  • The pinned post. The first thing a new subscriber reads: what is on the page, what arrives by message, how to ask for more. A fan who knows what he paid for is less likely to ask for his money back.
  • Free-trial links. Useful for a specific source or for winning back former fans, and a poor default. Give every trial its own link, so trial fans are measured apart from paying ones.
  • The price. The subscription price is read before a single photo loads, and it tells the fan how to value everything behind it. We explain why in pricing is positioning.

Then someone has to answer. A new subscriber who writes at midnight and hears nothing until morning has already started to leave, and the money spent to bring him in is going to waste. That is why our chatting floor works 24/7: traffic and chatting are one system, judged by the same numbers.

What gets accounts banned or quietly limited

Every platform publishes its rules, and the rules change: TikTok's current guidelines took effect on 24 September 2026. This is the short version as of this month, and almost all of it is about behaviour: spam, deception, getting around enforcement. Follow the links before you build on it.

  • Reddit. Spam, which Reddit defines to include mass-posting repetitive content for exposure or financial gain (spam policy). Vote manipulation, and ban evasion through a second account (disrupting communities). Unlabelled sexual content. An account flagged for spam can find its posts and profile no longer show up as expected.
  • TikTok. Anything that helps people reach sexual imagery or pornography, judged from context. Suggestive content loses the For You feed, and an account full of it can too. Bought followers or engagement, automation, and new accounts opened to dodge a restriction can end in bans, associated accounts included (integrity and authenticity).
  • Instagram. Offers of nude imagery and links to pornographic sites are removed; adult promotion in the profile costs the account its recommendations.
  • X. Unlabelled adult media, adult content in the profile photo or banner, coordinated inauthentic activity, engagement spam, deceptive links and ban evasion.
  • Dating apps. On Tinder and Bumble, promotion itself.

Where to spend your hours first if you do this alone

Alone, time is the budget. The order we would follow:

  • Fix conversion before traffic: profile, pinned post, price, and a plan for answering messages. Clicks sent to a page that leaks are wasted.
  • Pick one channel and do it properly. For most solo creators that is Reddit, which needs no existing audience, or X, if the audience is already there.
  • Put a tracking link on every source from the first day. Decisions in month three need data from month one.
  • Keep short video clean and be patient with it. It grows slower in the first month and is still alive in the sixth.
  • Buy traffic last, once you can measure it and can afford a test that fails.

When an agency makes sense

At some point the hours run out. Traffic, chatting and content each want a full day, and doing all three alone means doing each at a third. An agency makes sense at that point, if the page already converts, or earlier, if you want every source measured without building the system yourself. Our roster is capped at a hundred models, and about half of applicants are declined within 24 hours. Either way the audit is free and the answer is straight: request one here.

For traffic suppliers

If you sell traffic, this is how we will judge it. Every source in our network gets its own tracking links and is measured from click to subscription, spend and ROI. What counts is what fans do after they subscribe. We work with suppliers whose traffic holds up to that and is built inside the rules of the platforms it comes from. If that describes yours, see how we work with traffic partners.
